You are here

Dear visitors,

We are pleased to be able to offer our visitors an exciting Halloween time this year. Due to the great success of the last years, Movie Park Germany will also start in 2020 between October 1st and November 8th with 23 event days.

To this end, we have been in intensive consultation with the authorities to develop appropriate hygiene and safety measures for the Halloween Horror Festival and our respective horror attractions. We kindly ask you to pay attention to the following instructions before your visit.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Horrorwood Studios!

Park admission and time tickets for the horror houses

Movie Park Germany uses an online ticketing system to plan the capacity of visitors to the Halloween Horror Festival 2020. This system is valid for the general park entrance as well as for the respective horror houses (“mazes”).

The Movie Park entrance tickets contain twelve hours of park admission (10 am to 10 pm) including four hours of the Halloween Horror Festival with live entertainment on the streets and Halloween atmosphere spread by our monsters.

Our horror mazes must be booked separately due to official regulations as well as strict capacity limits and are therefore not included in the park entrance fee. This year, special time tickets are available for all eight horror attractions. Besides a better capacity control and the avoidance of full waiting areas, ticket holders of the horror labyrinths are guaranteed a more intense experience than before. An advance reservation via our online reservation system is mandatory in any case. Tickets will be available soon on www.moviepark.de/extras

The only free exception is the popular outdoor maze "Campout", which can be visited from the age of 12. Nevertheless, an online advance reservation is absolutely necessary here as well! Please note: In case of rain or bad weather conditions the attraction can be closed.

When booking your tickets for the respective horror mazes, please bear in mind the walking distance from attraction to attraction. We recommend reserving a maximum of four horror houses per visit.

We would like to remind all visitors to arrive on time for their booked time slots. The queue lines of the horror mazes are only accessible one hour before the official opening. An early queuing before the official opening and far before the booked time slot does not provide any advantage and will not be tolerated.

The booking of time slots speeds up the operative processes. Within a reserved time slot, however, there may be short waiting times among the visitors.

In general, we recommend early booking of the horror attractions. Due to the limited capacities we assume that the tickets will be sold out quickly. The box offices on site will remain closed, so that it is absolutely necessary to purchase tickets online and in advance.

Season Pass holders

You can continue to visit us as often as you like, but it is still necessary to register online in advance for the day of your choice. Please note that you can only select a new visit date after your visit has taken place.

The tickets for the mazes are not included in the season pass and must be booked separately. Tickets will be available soon on www.moviepark.de/extras

Horror attractions and shows

This year, Movie Park Germany offers eight horror mazes. In addition to the well-known attractions "Project Ningyo", "Insidious - Chapter 2", "The Slaughterhouse", "Hostel", "Circus of Freaks" and "Campout", the two new attractions "The Curse of Chupacabra" and the interactive shooting experience "Secrets of St. Elmo" are available.

In public, outside of families and persons of two households, only groups with a maximum of 5 persons may meet. For the Halloween Horror Festival this will also result in slight changes. The maximum group size per horror house is reduced according to the Corona Protection Ordinance, so that a maximum of 5 persons at the same time (4 persons and one monster actor per room) may visit the horror attraction. The appropriate operational adjustments will be implemented in the coming Halloween days, your horror house tickets will of course remain valid. We will enable the visit of the horror attractions under the best possible observance of your booked time slots.

For groups: Please note that for operational reasons it is not always possible for all members of a group or the entire group association to visit the attractions at the same time, so that official regulations and time schedules can be adhered to.

Contrary to the usual minimum distance in the waiting areas of our main attractions, separate official regulations apply to the Halloween horror houses. Therefore, we would like to point out that during the waiting time at the horror attractions as well as for the visit of the houses the minimum distance of 1.50 metres may be briefly reduced. For this purpose, our employees will already divide visitors into groups before entering the horror attractions in order to speed up the operational processes. Wearing a face mask is still obligatory here - as it is the case in all waiting areas.

Visitors can still look forward to street entertainment and our monsters, which follow the corresponding Corona regulations to ensure sufficient safety. DJ Max Bering will also play again this year and will provide the appropriate Halloween soundtrack.

Due to official regulations, the Opening Show at the New York City Plaza is suspended this year. We kindly ask you to avoid possible group formations at the New York City Plaza. The Roxy 4-D Cinema must also remain closed during Halloween and there will be no horror movie screenings. The hypnosis show is also suspended.

Queues and capacities

The official distance regulations (1.5 meters) apply in all our queuing areas. This might convey a false impression that visitors must stand in line much longer. However, the queues are only longer in meters and not fuller than usual. Also, the waiting times are far below those of normal park operation during the Halloween season.

Due to official regulations and capacity reductions, the number of visitors in the park can at most be one third of the usual total capacity and number of visitors on a regular Halloween day. With an area of more than 45 hectares - equivalent to 60 soccer fields - the park offers our guests enough space to spread out widely.

Halloween for kids

For all families, Movie Park Germany offers again its popular Halloween for kids located at Nickland. Creepy but safe fun has priority here: The hygiene measures will specifically be reinforced, and more space will be created between the individual Halloween activities. As a replacement for the children's bouncy house, this time a straw labyrinth will be moved to the bumper cars area of "Back at the Barnyard Bumpers". Other possible Halloween activities will be generously distributed on the forecourt of the California Café.

Safety and hygiene measures

For all eight horror mazes special conditions of the city of Bottrop and the public health department apply. Thus, we are obliged to collect contact information of all guests before their visit.

Wearing a face mask is obligatory in the whole park - both indoors and outdoors!

The safety and health of all employees and guests are still our top priority. Therefore, we have decided together with the authorities to significantly reduce the usual number of people in the horror labyrinths and to increase hygiene measures. Before entering the horror attractions, it is mandatory for all guests to disinfect their hands, in order to protect themselves and others and to specifically avoid infection chains. Our employees proactively disinfect the hands of all visitors before entering the attraction. Visitors who refuse these regulations will be excluded from visiting the maze.

Our 280 monsters, which can be seen on the streets and in the horror labyrinths, follow special Corona regulations as well. For example, they will integrate a face mask or face shield into their costume or wear gloves to protect themselves and guests. Due to the current situation, we also ask all visitors not to touch our scare actors. During the Halloween Horror Festival this year there will be special photo points with our monster actors. We would like to point out to all guests that the general minimum distance of 1.50 meters must be observed.

Of course, we are also dependent on the help and personal responsibility of our guests. In general, we would like to point out that you should wear your face mask even if the minimum distance of 1.50 meters cannot be kept for a short time.

We ask you to follow our staff’s instructions on site and stick to the safety regulations so that you and other guests can enjoy a carefree stay. Disregarding the regulations will lead to expulsion from the park.

In addition, the general park regulations and the officially approved safety and infection protection protocol, which was implemented in the past few weeks and classified by the city as fully functional, apply. More information about your stay in the park can be found in our general hygiene and safety instructions: https://www.movieparkgermany.de/en/covid-19
